Day Plan: Kigali – Nyungwe Forest National Park – Kigali

Early Morning:
Depart Kigali at dawn for Nyungwe Forest National Park (approx. 5 hours’ drive), Rwanda’s crown jewel for birding. Along the way, enjoy scenic stops through the rolling tea plantations and misty highlands.

Mid-Morning to Afternoon:
Arrive at Nyungwe Forest and begin your guided birding walk along the Uwinka and Kamiranzovu Trails, areas renowned for the highest diversity of Albertine Rift endemics. Expect to spot:

• Red-collared Mountain Babbler
• Handsome Francolin
• Grauer’s Warbler
